‘DO WORDS INDICATE HOW SOMEONE IS TRULY THINKING OR FEELING?’
Studies indicate that the words being used by people often indicate little about how that person is actually thinking or feeling.
To accurate read people or judge how others are thinking or feeling, it is important to observe facial expressions and tone of voice.
Behavioral studies show:
- Choice of words account for 7% of a person’s true feelings or thoughts
- 38% of voice tone and inflection indicate what their true feeling and thoughts are
- 55% of how a person feels or is thinking comes through facial expression and gestures, especially in the eyes and lips
